Registration For JEE Mains
In preparation for the upcoming JEE Main exam, the exam conducting authority typically initiates the registration process.
For the 2024 exam, registration will occur in two phases.
The first phase, Session 1 registration details, will be held from 1st November to 30th November 2023, which has been extended till 4th December 2023 and will be available again during a later stage for Session 2. Prospective candidates must complete their registration for JEE Main 2024 exclusively through the official website and are required to submit the applicable application fees. It is advisable for candidates to meticulously review all academic and personal details before finalising the JEE Main application form.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2024 outline the terms and conditions that candidates must meet to qualify for the exam. To avoid potential rejection in later stages, the students must thoroughly review and understand these criteria before registering. Some key points are highlighted below.
Age Limit: There is no specific age limit for JEE Main candidates, but IITs may have age criteria for admissions, as detailed in the JEE Main Information Brochure.
Qualifying Exam: To be eligible for the JEE Main, the Candidate must have completed their final exam in the 10+2 system from a recognised Central/State Board like the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. Candidates can also qualify if they've finished the two-year Pre-University examination from a recognised Board/University or the final exam of the two-year course from the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
Other qualifications include passing the Senior Secondary School Examination by the National Institute of Open Schooling with at least five subjects or completing any Public School/Board/University exam in India or abroad recognised as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Additionally, the Candidate can be eligible with a Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination, a diploma recognised by AICTE or a State board of technical education lasting at least 3 years, or a General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. Qualifying with a High School Certificate Examination from Cambridge University or an International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva also meets the criteria.
For candidates who completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) exam outside India or from a Board not specified above, a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) confirming equivalence is necessary. If the Class 12 Exam is not a public one, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) exam earlier.
Year: Only candidates who passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2021 and 2022 or those appearing in 2024 are eligible for JEE Main 2024.
Qualifying Marks: While there is no minimum pass percentage for JEE Main, candidates must pass their Class 12 board or equivalent examinations.
Number of Attempts: Candidates can take the exam for three consecutive years.
Subjects in the Qualifying Exam: Applicants must pass the qualifying exam with a minimum of five subjects: Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.

Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry individually, and a total aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination.

For those applying for B.Arch./B. Planning courses, Mathematics is a mandatory subject.
Criteria for Reservation in JEE Main
The examination authority considers the reservation criteria set by the Government of India for JEE Main admissions. All India ranks are determined based on the categorical reservation policy. The percentage reservations for categories in JEE Main 2024 admissions are as follows:

JEE Main Syllabus

JEE Main Results
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the JEE Main examination across multiple sessions and dates, with two shifts per day. To prevent disadvantage or advantage based on the paper's difficulty, the NTA implements a "Normalization Procedure Based on Percentile Score."
